potatoes

I finally made a successful batch of homefriesy potatoes.  Usually they turn out somewhat flavorless and boring but not today.  After carefully watching my girlfriend make her potatoes I was able to recreate.  The trick that I was missing was to keep just enough butter in the pan so that they were still frying.  Also microwaving them for 5min was not a bad Idea either.  Now that I have tasted my delicious success I am off to the food bank to see what kind of food I get this week.  I know that I shouldn't look forward to the food bank but I get excited about it.  The unintentional surprise of food in stock at the bank is rather fun and at the end of the line there is always some sort of treat or desert that normally I would never purchase.  My prediction is for donuts at the end for me.  2300 and counting

resume madness

So resumes have been flying out of my computer lately to all sorts of employers.  I have given up on the subletting of my room and am trying to obtain a decent job.  Waiting around for employers to call back is not my favorite thing and it would not be so bad if it weren't freezing outside.  I start my call backs on Monday, see how this goes.  My troubles with the chai are over as I returned the chai for a brand I know and wrote a complaint to full circle organics.  Feeling a little like a rebel right now...

Chai Tea

So I purchased a box of Chai Tea at a great price from my locale Haggen supermarket.  It is organic and made by Full Circle.  I love chai and usually can not get enough of it.  However, this tea doesn't smell or taste like chai at all.  In fact the tea has a faint aroma of cranberry and a taste of mild weak herbal tea.  With my girlfriends suggestion I am going to return the tea to Haggen and write a letter to full circle.  Seems like the easy thing to do but normally I just use up whatever I don't like any ways and then never buy it again.  This new approach feels more fulfilling if nothing else....

subletting

I thought it would be some what easy to sublet my room since most every summer before I rented my room the house had sublet rooms.  Apparently I was very wrong.  Two of my roomies are stressed about the move and getting someone in the house.  The issue is no longer the subleter but other side issues of getting our second shower working, me not being around enough, or me being around too much.  This is enough to send me over the edge.  One step at a time right.  Expecting a girl to come and check out the room tonight.  She seems to be a great fit but who knows if we don't just have a household melt down while she is here.  Keeping my fingers crossed....

early saturday morning

Now that I am back in town I can not get back on a solid sleep pattern....   It is Saturday for crying out loud and I still woke up at 0630.  The sun is out and all I want to do is to go get breakfast from some place downtown.  I have all the ingredients to make the same breakfast here but still have a desire to go out.  This I feel has been my issue as of late.  Why go out when I can make the same food at my house and I will be hanging out with the same people?  Well off I go to try and break my pattern of eating out,  a few over easy eggs with avocado all on top of home fries should do the trick.

$2400 and counting

I have just found out that after being away from my job for two weeks that they decided to severe our relationship as of Monday.  I called in on Wednesday and found this out.  Unfortunately the separation can not be reversed even though I was not left any indication via email or on my phone about the end date.   So that leaves me $2400 to last until I find another locally or go fishing up in Alaska.  Either way I have to attend three weddings and a bachelor party within two months starting at the end of July.  Not a problem normally but two of the weddings happen to be in Vermont a month apart and one is in Seattle.  So working past July 23rd is out of the question and taking two months off of work to travel back and forth and forth would not work for most employers.  So subletting of my rental room seems to be a quick money saver contingent on the actual date of sublet.  The chickens however will continue to lay so everything is not lost.
